Sub: Condolence on the sad demise of Comrade HARKISHAN SING SURJEET
I on my own behalf and on behalf of the Punjab Committee of the National Workers Party, Pakistan Kissan Committee (Agriculture Workers Union of Pakistan) express our heartfelt grief on the sad demise of Comrade Harkishan Sing Surjeet, a veteran equally popular, respected and loved across the border in the subcontinent.
The peasants, the workers and the progressive people of Punjab of Pakistan always felt his Presence amongst them.
No doubt he was a great Marxist Teacher, Organizer and his death has caused a great loss not only to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Progressive forces of India but has created a gape of leadership in the entire Subcontinent specially and the world over.
Though I joined the movement in mid Sixties, while there was no occasion to meet the Late Comrade Surjeet, but as a close associate of Late Com. C R Aslam [ the Chief Patron of National Workers Party, previously President of Pakistan Socialist Party and friend & colleague in the CPI ( Punjab) prior to independence] I had the honour to meet the Com. Thrice, firstly in1986 in Moscow ,secondly at his residence in Delhi and lastly in 2005 when he visited late comrade C R Aslam along with Com . A B Barhadan at Lahore and we hosted a reception in their honour.
It is a shock for us that when we were holding a meeting on the second anniversary of Com C R Aslam yesterday we had to pass the Condolence Resolution on the sad demise of Com Surjeet.
I would request our feeling may be conveyed to the Party leadership, the family, especially to his wife Pritam Kaur, his sons, daughter & the grand children and oblige.
